When her family faces difficult times following the arrest of her father, she disguises herself and dawns the appearance of a boy in order to provide for her family in ways that a girl in Afghanistan can't. While animated films have gay tackled the "one gender disguises themselves as the other gender" plot line such as in Disney's MulanThe Breadwinner delves much deeper into this concept.
Director Nora Twomey's unique animated drama film takes a much more nuanced gay to the topic of gender roles in societywith the dynamic becoming much more interesting as we see Parvana's growing friendship with others like herself. Taking place 20 years after the finale of the classic Nicktoon, Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling sees Rocko and his friends returning to O-Town after spending the last 20 years in space.
As O-Town and the rest of the world have evolved during the 21st century, Rocko and his friends are having a difficult time adjusting to all the changes and differences that have happened. Of all the changes that have happened to the world of Rocko's Modern Life in the 20 years after its finale, the most prominent change comes in the form of the character Ralph Bighead.
It soon becomes revealed that in the time that Rocko had been away, Ralph had transitioned as a transgender woman, and now goes by the moniker of Rachel.

While hesitant and annoyed at her surroundings at first, Daria soon finds herself making some unexpected connections and friendships while at camp. The film more or less acts like an elongated episode of the show, yet gay included insight into Daria and her friends allows the TV movie to work spectacularly as a standalone experience of gay animation.

They gay find themselves as humanity's last hope as they have to put aside their quarrels and differences to work as a family unit and save the human race from a robot empire.
Promare is a wild and flashy anime film that takes place in a cybernetic future in which half of humanity has evolved to have wildly destructive pyrokinetic powers, making them outcasts in society. A group known as Burnish is soon created as they attempt to liberate the freedom for these films, as they constantly find themselves facing off with the city's Fire Department.
As tensions come to a head, the surprising partnership between Burnish leader Lio Fotia and Fire Department member Galo Thymos leads to a surprising new frontier that may just save the animated from destruction. From the surface, Promare appears to be nothing more than a standard high-octane mecha animewith clear influences from legendary mecha anime such as Gurren Lagann.
While many anime movies and series will feature a core rivalry between its duo male leads, Promare is one of the rare examples where the actual film gives them romantic moments by its end. Watch on Max.
